Sweet Surrender

When I first began experimenting, lavender was drying on my counter, so I decided to begin there. As with all my fragrances, there is a story – either travel, or life inspired. Sweet Surrender was created in homage to the comfort role lavender has played in my life, especially during my time prior to surgery for pancreatic cancer. It calms and soothes. A portion of proceeds from the sale of these candles will be donated to Project Purple, an organization created to raise awareness of pancreatic cancer. They reached out to me in October to do a podcast on my experience, Meghan held my phone, and I interviewed on a bench alongside the Mississippi River. This candle is so aptly named because during the darkness, the unknown, the questions yet to be answered, in the midst of everything, I sweetly surrendered everything to God, knowing that He alone had all the answers, and He alone would see me through every step. Due to Covid, I was never with any family members for my biopsy, doctor visits, CT scans, PET scan, blood work, iron infusions, or hospital stays. The ONLY peace and comfort I had came from my faith that I was never alone, God was keeping me calm, gently cradling me. I completely surrendered, and still do.
