Candles, Creativity, and Chaos

Good morning! I'm writing this while my brain is spinning, I'm unloading the dishwasher, thinking about the candles I made yesterday, making a list of all the things that need to be accomplished today, planning for this weekend - football game, competition, family coming to town, and drinking coffee. CHAOS.

Making the transition from full time retail employee for 10 years doing shift work from 6:30am to 11pm, to now having my own business I'm growing, being a mom and wife, and creating my own schedule, is a challenge! I feel guilty if I'm not busy, but then again I'm getting up at 6, making Alex breakfast and packing his lunch (6 days a week during marching season). I also normally have Milaina on Thursdays. But I find myself justifying my time in my head.

I have to deprogram my thinking, reprogram my thought processes, while I'm embracing my creative side. This means I could be making candles at 7am or 7pm, or in the middle of the day. This means I'm thinking about labels, scents, marketing, open houses, event booths - ALL the time!

So, I'm trying to develop a routine, while being fluid and allowing myself time to create, while working with Alex's band schedule and school schedule. In this process I'm learning to allow myself to breathe, remember where I've been, be gentle with myself, grateful for this moment in time, and thank God for my husband, family, and friends for their support. I am eternally grateful to God for blessing my life with each of you, without you none of this would be possible.
